Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook (GWSMO) is a tool provided by Google that allows users to synchronize their Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) accounts with Microsoft Outlook. This enables users to manage their emails, contacts, calendars, and other data in Outlook while keeping everything in sync with their Google Workspace account.
1. Download GWSMO.
2. Open the installation on the computer that you use for Outlook and follow the instructions.
3. Sign in to your Google Workspace Account:
3.1 Enter the email address for your Google Account and click Continue.
3.2 Enter your password and click Next.
3.3 Click Allow to provide access to your Google Account.
You can create a Google Workspace profile to import your data (optional) or skip ahead to start using Outlook.
4. Import data
In the GWSMO app’s window, you should configure your syncing preferences.
With Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook, you can import your Outlook data to your Google Account from:
- An existing Outlook profile.
- A Microsoft Exchange profile (if you’re using Exchange).
- A PST file containing data exported from Outlook.
4.1 Check Import data from an existing profile and select what else, in addition to contacts, you’d like to transfer.
You can also check “Send crash reports and usage statistics to Google” if you want to share information with Google, but this is optional.
4.2 Click Create profile
5. Start Microsoft Outlook
5.1 Click Start Microsoft Outlook to set up Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook.
5.2 Select your Google Workspace profile.
5.3 Click OK.
When Outlook opens your Google Workspace profile, GWSMO begins to synchronize data with your Google Workspace account. Refer to the Google Workspace Learning Center tutorial for more information.
